Olga’s story
She was admitted to a music school in Ukraine at the age of three (“To sit with 7-year-olds, that was something!” – she later recalled).
She graduated from the Pedagogical and Music Institute in Rivne, Western Ukraine, then continued her studies at the Kiev Conservatory, in an opera singing course.
– I wasn’t sure if I had enough talent and to sing professionally – she says. – During my pedagogical studies the lecturer told me that there was something unusual in my tone. So at 18 I started thinking seriously about my career as a singer.
She went to Poland in 1991 to continue her vocal studies. At that time, Poland was undergoing an economic and social revolution after the political change. Her unusual voice was quickly discovered. She was hired by the Warsaw Chamber Opera, as a soloist. To date, she has sang over 40 opera pieces, plus many others from a very diverse repertoire.
