International Migrants Day 2020: Join MAX live event
On 18 December 2020, MAX project is celebrating the International Migrants Day; an occasion that tends to dismantle prejudices and raise awareness of migrants’ contributions in the economic, cultural, and social fields, for the benefit of both their country of origin and their country of destination.
The 18th of December has been proclaimed as the International Migrants Day by the United Nations General Assembly on 4 December 2000.
Every year, The International Migrants Day is celebrated globally by the United Nations and other UN-related International Organisations, and examines a wide range of migration themes with the aim of advocating for migration driven by the principle that humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society.
This year, to mark the International Migrants Day, the MAX project wants to share success stories of migrants coming from MAX Interactive Map as well as engage and give voice to two different grass-root organizations in Warsaw and Amsterdam working with migrants by hosting a live event “Stories from MAX people: The International Migrants Day through the eyes of our change-makers in Warsaw and Amsterdam”.
You can take part in the MAX event by connecting live on Facebook on Friday, 18 December 2020 from 13.00 CET.
